About The Position

This role involves managing the program plan to ensure timely and quality completion aligned with organizational goals. The Senior Technical Program Manager will monitor and mitigate program risks, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, UX, science), and conduct program reviews with leadership. The position also focuses on defining and driving programs for engineering excellence, providing regular updates to leadership, and gathering feedback to refine strategic processes for quality and engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Plan and manage large, complex programs, driving project delivery through engineering and product managers; step in to manage projects as needed.
  • Manage program teams to deliver value and collaborate with senior partners and other program managers to define and execute roadmaps.
  • Conduct risk assessments to ensure implementation plans meet partner requirements and strategic priorities.
  • Use effective communication to inform and influence business partners; proactively network across Indeed to advocate for program success.
  • Identify root causes of organizational problems or opportunities and partner with appropriate teams to implement timely solutions.
  • Mentor project teams and junior program/project managers to enhance their project management skills and close skill gaps.
  • Foster collaboration across cross-functional groups to ensure alignment and successful program execution.
  • Requires a minimum of 14 years of related experience; or a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience.
  • Agile and adaptable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Proven experience influencing senior management and managing major cross-functional initiatives.
  • Skilled in handling multi-year, highly technical programs (e.g., infrastructure migration, platform programs, re-architecture).
  • Ability to communicate technical topics to a business audience, and business topics to technical teams.
  • Expertise in various product development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams to deliver high-quality products through the software lifecycle, with metrics orientation and a customer-centric mindset.
