Senior Technical Program Manager, Hardware Systems

MytraBrisbane, CA
$165,000 - $175,000Onsite

About The Position

Mytra’s Engineering team is looking for a dynamic and collaborative Senior Technical Program Manager to lead development of our warehouse operator stations - the hardware/software systems where human operators interface with our automated material flow network, including forklift interaction points and case/pallet pick-and-put stations where goods enter and exit the automated system. As a hardware product TPM, you’ll drive development and delivery of integrated hardware/software products from mechanical, electrical, safety design through firmware, sensing, and the data services layered on top. You’ll collaborate with systems, safety, mechanical, electrical, firmware, sensing, and data/ML engineers to plan, execute, and ship operator stations that are safe, reliable, and instrumented to turn operational data into value for our customers. You’ll own the overall hardware program timeline - including concepting, architecture, design, build, integration, and test - and drive results across cross-functional teams. This role requires high agency and cross-functional leadership, hands-on comfort managing product and technology development processes (design reviews, prototyping, build and test campaigns coordination), and the ability to drive complex systems from concept through deployment and production operation in customer spaces. This role requires on-site presence at our Brisbane, CA headquarters, for close collaboration and coordination with cross-functional teams in our build spaces.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management or related role, with hands-on experience managing physical products development lifecycles (mechanical/electrical design, prototyping, validation builds and integration, launch/deployment) for complex electromechanical systems
  • Experience planning and managing program resourcing, schedules, budgets, and driving milestones across hardware and software programs
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, communicating results to senior leadership, and driving programs through launch

Nice To Haves

  • You have working knowledge of sensors and sensing systems, implementing safety systems and standards, and certification processes
  • You’re very comfortable developing timelines and driving program execution, and have proven experience launching multiple hardware products
  • You’re excited about working on maturing products, growing, and shaping the future of the company
  • You’re familiar with Linear, Smartsheets, Notion, Jira, Asana or any other task/project management platform
  • You can convey complex ideas and technical concepts to a diverse audience
  • You are driven to achieve hard goals, inquisitive, and take pride in the products you create

Responsibilities

  • Create and drive program plans, timelines, and implementation across the end-to-end development lifecycle through to customer deployments for products spanning mechanical and electrical design, safety, firmware, controls, sensing, and the software/data layer running on top (e.g. operator pick/ put stations), or new technologies development (e.g. for cost, reliability, scalability)
  • Own cross-functional dependency management, program risk registers, build scope; manage program cadences, issue backlogs, and early risk retirement.
  • Collaborate and communicate with leadership, internal partners (e.g. engineering, design, product management, project engineering, deployment teams), and external partners to drive execution and maintain alignment
  • Initiate and implement processes to ensure efficient deployment of resources, and improve program management best practices

Benefits
