About The Position

Braze is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager (TPM) to own the development of an AI-powered translation infrastructure. This is an early-stage platform role where the candidate will thrive in ambiguity, design self-serve systems, and drive the technical execution of an internal AI translation platform. The role involves determining where human review is essential and designing efficient workflows for it, aiming to remove friction without compromising quality. The localization platform impacts various business units including Demand Gen, Product Marketing, Sales, Enablement, Product, Engineering, Support, and regional teams. The TPM will initially focus on plugging into the existing localization program to understand its realities and opportunities, ensuring the platform is informed by this knowledge. This is a hands-on role requiring coding, shipping prototypes, and collaborating with engineers, with an expectation to use and build with AI development tools.

Requirements

  • Experience in localization or content operations is a strong plus, but not a strict requirement. A thoughtful interest in the space, including views on AI's impact on cost curves and how modern enterprises should run localization programs, is needed.
  • If localization experience is present, familiarity with the localization landscape (tools, workflows, vendor relationships, friction points) is expected.
  • Ability to develop a clear, defensible framework for when human review is required, tuned to content type, audience, risk, and context.
  • Deep familiarity with headless CMS architecture; Sanity experience is a strong plus.
  • Comfortable with Node.js, TypeScript, and modern web frameworks.
  • Ability to build simple web apps and functional prototypes independently.
  • Comfortable building with AI development tools like Claude Code or Cursor.
  • Comfortable architecting multi-platform systems and reasoning about long-term design tradeoffs.
  • Ability to be truly embedded with engineering, collaborating in real-time, pairing on problems, and using AI development tools to accelerate the team.
  • Ability to hold technical conversations without deferring every decision.
  • Experience managing stakeholders across team boundaries, including customers with delivery expectations.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI's possibilities as a tool for use and building.
  • Iterative approach: prefer shipping a rough thing and learning over over-planning.
  • Systems thinker: design for unseen problems.
  • PMs, solutions architects, solutions consultants, and engineers are encouraged to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Sanity experience is a strong plus.
  • Localization background is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the localization infrastructure product, including roadmap, architecture decisions, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Partner with engineers to design and ship multi-platform systems that meet complex, evolving localization needs across the business.
  • Build functional prototypes independently to validate ideas and sharpen requirements before full engineering investment.
  • Design workflows and self-serve patterns that enable teams to move forward without central queue routing.
  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted translation tooling while maintaining quality and consistency standards.
  • Make smart build-vs-buy decisions, determining when to build internal tooling versus leveraging external vendors.
  • Manage relationships with translation and localization vendors, defining expectations and integration points.
