About The Position
The Senior Technical Intern - Software will work with a multidisciplinary engineering team at Daylight Solutions on projects that contribute to the business. The internship offers exposure to engineering practices, including sprint planning and shipping code, with mentorship from experienced engineers. The intern will assist engineers with assignments, testing, research, data gathering, design analysis, calculations, and design details, while learning about the company and its engineering methods, programs, and practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently an engineering student with some progress toward an electrical, electronics, or robotics engineering degree.
- Basic knowledge of programming and Python, data structures, Ohm’s law, and Kirchhoff’s law.
- Minimal experience using laboratory equipment such as a power supply, oscilloscope, function generator, and multimeter.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to build a professional network.
- Diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with and assist engineers on engineering assignments.
- Carry out basic work instructions to learn the fundamentals of the company and new skills.
- Conduct limited-scope testing under engineer supervision.
- Complete assigned tasks on time.
- Gather and assemble data for engineers.
- Assist with research in a particular field when required.
- Conduct design analysis and calculations under engineer supervision.
- Assist engineers with appropriate design details.
- Build relationships and a professional network.
- Perform varied tasks to become familiar with engineering staff, methods, programs, and practices.
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the organization’s mission, values, and culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
