About The Position

BCI, a leader in the women's fashion industry since 1975, is seeking a Freelance Senior Technical Designer for Sweaters. With a portfolio of brands including CeCe, Vince Camuto, Ted Baker, 1.State, and Parker, BCI is dedicated to innovation, excellence, and women's empowerment through fashion. This role involves partnering with the Senior Sweater Designer to create technical packages, manage communication with factories, source materials, and ensure timely delivery of seasonal sweater collections while maintaining margins.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in WOMEN'S sweater design required.
• Experience in leading fittings.
• Strong working knowledge of Sweater garment construction, including stitch/gauge/technical capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management and multitasking skills.
• Innate sense of urgency and organizational skills; technical and detail-oriented.
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, problem-solver, dedicated, deadline-driven and self-motivated/entrepreneurial.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Senior Sweater Designer to launch proto, SRS tech packs for all seasonal sweater collections.
• Daily communication with sweater factories to ensure sample execution from early development through final production.
• Sourcing yarn, trim, and developing stitches.
• Prioritize workload based on yarn/garment delivery, ensuring seasonal deadlines are met.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure ideal product while maintaining margins, suggesting cost-effective options.
• Lead fittings.
