Requirements

  • A university degree plus at least six years of related experience, or eight years of relevant field operations experience, or a similar mix of education and experience.
  • Experience providing support for natural gas transmission, compression, power generation, rotating equipment, maintenance, reliability, or a similar industrial setting.
  • Solid expertise in compression and power generation machinery, covering operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improving performance.
  • Ability to interpret equipment condition, reliability, vibration, and operational data to analyze complex technical issues and formulate effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance practices, outage planning, and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences and influence decisions across multiple collaborator groups.
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to travel regularly to operating facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Applied Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with gas turbines, compressors, reciprocating engines, power generation systems, and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Knowledge of vibration analysis, condition monitoring systems, root cause analysis, failure investigations, and equipment performance analytics.
  • Experience supporting equipment overhauls, commissioning activities, facility modifications, maintenance capital projects, or modernization initiatives.
  • Professional Engineer designation, technologist certification, trade qualification, or relevant equipment-specific technical training.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess the performance, condition, and reliability of compression and power generation assets, offering recommendations that aid maintenance and operational decisions.
  • Provide technical mentorship and troubleshooting support for rotating equipment, helping improve equipment availability, performance, and operational reliability.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Reliability, Engineering, Project teams, vendors, and OEMs to resolve technical issues and find opportunities for ongoing improvement.
  • Analyze equipment health using operating data, inspections, vibration analysis, and reliability metrics to identify emerging issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support major maintenance activities, outages, overhauls, commissioning efforts, and equipment startups by providing technical oversight and field support.
  • Contribute to maintenance strategies, technical procedures, equipment standards, and asset management initiatives that improve reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical input for capital projects, equipment upgrades, modernization initiatives, and facility modifications, ensuring maintainability and lifecycle considerations are addressed.
