About The Position
Energy Talent Search is working with a growing tech company in the Denver area that’s continuing to build out its finance function. They’re looking for someone who can take ownership of external reporting and step into the more complex side of accounting. This is a visible role where you’re working directly with leadership and auditors, not buried in a back-office function.
Requirements
- CPA required
- Background in public accounting (Big 4 or similar strongly preferred)
- Direct SEC reporting experience is required
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP in a public company environment
- Experience working through technical accounting issues—not just standard close/reporting
- Ability to communicate clearly with leadership and auditors
- Someone who can operate independently and take ownership
Nice To Haves
- Advanced degree is a plus
Responsibilities
- Leading the company’s external reporting process across reporting cycles
- Preparing financial statements and disclosures that are clean, accurate, and audit-ready
- Acting as the internal resource on technical accounting matters as they arise
- Working directly with external auditors and helping drive timelines
- Supporting key business activity (equity, transactions, and other non-routine items)
- Interpreting new accounting guidance and applying what’s relevant
- Improving reporting processes and tightening overall structure
