About The Position

The Senior Technical Accountant will support the Regional Controllers team across company-owned brokerages, including Coldwell Banker, Sotheby’s International Realty, and Corcoran. This high-visibility role focuses on financial close and reporting, technical accounting, audit support, M&A accounting, and process improvement in a multi-brand environment. The position is based at the company’s headquarters in Madison, New Jersey, and reports directly to an Accounting Manager.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting.
At least 3 years of public accounting experience.
Internal or external audit experience.
Advanced proficiency in Excel.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with high attention to detail.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize tasks, work independently, and handle multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Manage month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple brands.
Ensure accounting practices comply with U.S. GAAP and internal policies; prepare technical accounting memos and research complex or non-routine transactions.
Prepare and review financial statement disclosures, support external audit requests, and maintain a robust internal control environment.
Support mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures through accounting due diligence, purchase accounting analyses, purchase price allocations, goodwill assessments, and post-acquisition integration.
Lead process analyses, identify standardization opportunities, review peer or staff journal entries and reconciliations, and partner with FP&A, Legal, and Corporate Development.
