About The Position

As a member of the Tax Strategy Team, the Senior Tax Strategist supports the development and execution of tax strategies for high-net-worth clients, families, and business owners. This role assists in analyzing client situations, researching tax topics, preparing recommendations, and coordinating deliverables that integrate with clients’ overall financial goals. The Senior Tax Strategist works in close collaboration with our tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate execution of tax strategies. This position may be client-facing in conjunction with a senior tax advisor, however it functions primarily in a supporting and collaborative capacity, providing the technical and analytical foundation for integrated wealth management solutions. In this role, you can expect to focus in the following areas: Gather, organize, and review client tax and financial data, including tax returns, financial statements, and planning documents, to support tax strategy development. Assist in preparing tax strategy deliverables, such as projections, planning summaries, and tax impact analyses for tax advisors. Review tax analysis performed by junior team members. Assist in training junior staff on tax planning and other software used by the team Research federal and state tax issues, transactions, and planning opportunities, summarizing findings for internal and client use. Preparation of moderately complex individual, trust, partnership, foundation and corporate tax returns for accuracy and compliance, as needed. Assist with analyzing IRS and state notices, preparing draft responses for review. Work directly with taxing authorities on resolving client tax issues. Coordinate with advisors and other internal teams to integrate tax strategies into broader client plans. Maintain accurate project tracking, documentation, and timely follow-up on assigned work. Contribute to process improvements and maintenance of tax research resources. Contribute to and support the creation of tax-related training or client content. Provide excellent client service in all interactions, whether directly or in support of senior team members. Maintain a collaborative, team-first approach by assisting colleagues during peak workload periods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university (required)
  • 4–7 years of experience in tax planning required
  • Experience with individual, trust, partnership, foundation and corporate tax returns preferred
  • Exposure to high-net-worth client situations and related tax considerations
  • Familiarity with tax research tools and resources
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong tax research capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Collaborative team player with a client-first mindset
