Requirements

  • BA/BS in Accounting required
  • CPA strongly preferred (EA considered)
  • 5 years of tax experience, preferably reviewing individual and closely held business returns
  • Experience with high-net-worth tax planning strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build relationships with advisors, clients, and outside professionals
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills
  • U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident or have other unrestricted U.S. work authorization and will not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization now or anytime in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high-net-worth tax planning strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the practice’s primary internal tax resource for advisors and staff
  • Analyze individual, business, trust, and related tax returns to identify planning opportunities (not tax preparation)
  • Develop proactive tax strategies aligned with clients' overall financial plans and investment strategies
  • Partner with advisors before and during client meetings to explain tax strategies in clear, practical language
  • Coordinate with clients, CPAs, attorneys, and other professionals to implement planning recommendations
  • Research complex federal and state tax issues and communicate legislative changes to the advisory team
  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax projections, estimated tax analyses, and payroll-related calculations when needed
  • Create scalable tax planning processes, templates, and educational resources
  • Develop presentations and internal training to improve advisor tax knowledge
  • Help build and continuously improve our tax planning capabilities
