The Senior Tax Manager is a crucial leadership role within our growing Woodstock tax practice. This position is responsible for elevating the quality, efficiency, and sophistication of our tax services by overseeing the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful tax compliance and advisory services. The role requires a blend of deep technical tax expertise, strong leadership, project management, and client-service skills. The Senior Tax Manager will guide staff, review complex tax returns, and ensure efficient engagement execution. This role also involves partnering with office leaders to drive revenue and strengthen client relationships through high-value planning, proactive communication, and strategic tax insights. As a subject matter expert, the Senior Tax Manager will contribute to the operation of a high-performing tax department, leveraging technical knowledge, sound judgment, and effective processes to support the firm's overall objectives.

Requirements

  • 7 or more years of relevant tax experience preferred.
  • CPA or EA preferred.
  • Ability to work well independently and with a team.
  • Advanced computer skills on Microsoft platforms.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks, and trial balance software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while handling multiple client projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to expand current knowledge base.

Nice To Haves

  • UltraTax tax software and Practice CS are used but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Review U.S. and multi-state income tax returns for business entities, including C-corporations, S-Corporations, partnerships, and fiduciary returns.
  • Review U.S. and state individual income and gift tax returns.
  • Prepare tax projections for individual and corporate clients.
  • Conduct tax research as needed.
  • Communicate with existing clients and colleagues regarding various tax matters.
  • Engage in consulting and special projects as requested by clients.
