About The Position

Hightower Tax Solutions is currently in search of a qualified Senior Tax Manager to join our team. The candidate should have critical thinking skills, the ability to manage multiple clients and staff, and the capacity to effectively communicate (verbal & written) in a fast-paced environment with aggressive deadlines and numerous teammates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • CPA designation strongly preferred (alternative Enrolled Agent designation)
  • 8 or more years of experience in public accounting, with demonstrated expertise in partnerships, S-corporations, individual and trust tax compliance.
  • Supervisory and leadership experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. tax regulations and compliance.
  • Strong sense of urgency, adaptability, flexibility and resourcefulness
  • Proficiency in CCH Tax
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and client service orientation.
  • You are a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident or possess other unrestricted U.S. work authorization and will not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization now or anytime in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in Taxation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for partnerships, S-corporations, individuals, and trusts.
  • Ensure all returns comply with current tax laws and regulations.
  • Resolve IRS and state agency audits, inquiries, and tax notices.
  • Conduct technical tax research and draft memoranda on complex tax issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation and evaluate its impact on our clients.
  • Develop, motivate, and train junior staff and managers.
  • Delegate projects and manage workflow to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture.
  • Train staff on new processes, software, and regulatory changes.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, being a trusted advisor.
  • Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services.
