About The Position

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Evansville, IN. The role involves performing tax services for individual and business clients, including planning, tax return and report preparation, review, research, and consulting. The Senior Tax Manager will handle all tax authority communications (Federal, State and Local), interact with client personnel on tax return information, due dates, deadlines, and other compliance matters, and keep team members informed. The position also requires identifying opportunities to provide additional services to clients, providing training and mentoring to staff, communicating with Shareholders, analyzing problems, and recommending solutions. The role includes assuming leadership opportunities within the department and acting as a firm representative when attending professional and organizational events, and developing a network of referral sources through active involvement in the events.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience performing tax services in a CPA firm
  • Able to meet challenging client requirements and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilities
  • Self motivated, driven individual that can work independently
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Proficient in MS Office programs
  • Experience with online tax research

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • Tax-preparation software (Axcess a plus)
