About The Position

TJT is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our growing tax practice and help lead our Hospitality & Family Office client base. In this highly visible role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to successful restaurant groups, hospitality operators, franchise owners, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and closely held businesses. You'll work directly with owners, executives, and multi-generational families, helping them navigate complex tax matters while supporting their long-term business, investment, and wealth preservation goals. The immediate priority for this position is to provide hands-on leadership for an established portfolio of hospitality and family office clients. You will oversee complex tax engagements, guide strategic planning initiatives, review technical tax work, and help clients make informed decisions regarding growth, succession, investments, and ownership transitions. We are looking for a seasoned public accounting professional with substantial experience serving privately held businesses and high-net-worth clients. The ideal candidate is a strong technical reviewer, trusted client advisor, mentor, and relationship builder who enjoys helping clients solve complex challenges while contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive public accounting experience with a strong focus on tax compliance, consulting, and review
  • Significant experience reviewing partnership, S corporation, C corporation, and individual tax returns
  • Strong knowledge of pass-through entity taxation closely held business structures, and tax planning strategies
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex tax issues in a practical and business-focused manner
  • Proven leadership and project management capabilities
  • Strong technical review skills and attention to detail
  • Commitment to mentoring, coaching, and developing team members
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and competing priorities
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • Active CPA license required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience serving hospitality clients, restaurant groups, franchise organizations, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, or privately held businesses is strongly preferred
  • Master's degree in accounting or taxation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an advisor to hospitality ownership groups, restaurant operators, hotel owners, franchisees, family offices, and high-net-worth families
  • Build strong relationships with owners, executives, family members, and key decision-makers while developing a deep understanding of their businesses, investments, and long-term goals
  • Advise clients on ownership structures, entity reorganizations, operating agreements, buy-sell arrangements, and succession planning strategies
  • Provide guidance regarding liquidity events, business acquisitions and dispositions, franchise transactions, real estate investments, and wealth transfer opportunities
  • Coordinate with attorneys, bankers, investment advisors, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive client solutions
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on both business and personal tax matters, recognizing the overlap that often exists between closely held businesses and family-owned assets
  • Review and oversee complex tax engagements for restaurant groups, franchise owners, hotel operators, hospitality management companies, and related real estate entities
  • Advise clients on tax considerations related to multi-entity operating structures, new location expansion, ownership changes, and growth initiatives
  • Consult on operational tax matters affecting hospitality businesses, including owner compensation planning, business structuring, and multi-state filing considerations
  • Identify planning opportunities related to depreciation strategies, cost segregation studies, fixed asset planning, and hospitality-related real estate investments
  • Assist clients with transaction planning, due diligence, and tax implications associated with acquisitions, dispositions, internal restructurings, and expansion projects
  • Monitor industry trends and tax developments impacting hospitality clients and provide proactive recommendations
  • Review complex individual, partnership, and pass-through entity tax returns
  • Coordinate tax planning across multiple entities, trusts, family partnerships, investment holdings, and operating businesses to ensure alignment with family objectives
  • Provide comprehensive tax oversight for families with diverse asset portfolios, including operating businesses, real estate investments, private equity interests, and family investment entities
  • Assist clients with significant life and business events, including business sales, family transitions, inheritances, and ownership succession planning
  • Review complex partnership, S corporation, C corporation, and individual income tax returns
  • Oversee tax planning engagements, projections, quarterly estimates, and year-end planning initiatives for closely held businesses and family groups
  • Research and resolve sophisticated federal and state tax matters affecting hospitality businesses, family offices, and high-net-worth clients
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and proactively communicate planning opportunities and risks to clients and engagement teams
  • Review responses to federal and state tax notices and assist clients with examinations, audits, and other tax authority inquiries
  • Ensure engagements are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule while maintaining TJT's standards for client service
  • Mentor, coach, and develop tax professionals across all experience levels
  • Provide meaningful review feedback and technical guidance to support professional growth
  • Collaborate with TJT leadership on practice strategy, service offerings, and long-term growth initiatives
  • Serve as a technical resource for hospitality and family office matters throughout the firm
  • Strengthen existing client relationships through exceptional service and proactive advisory support
  • Participate in networking, referral development, and business development activities
  • Support new client opportunities through meetings, proposals, and relationship-building efforts
  • Help elevate TJT's presence within the hospitality, privately held business, and high-net-worth communities
