About The Position

The Senior Tax Accountant, based in the New York office, will be responsible for a variety of firm-wide tax related activities. The Senior Tax Accountant will be exposed to various tax concepts involving domestic and international regulations, workforce mobility and tax treaties.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of tax accounting experience in public accounting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to work independently, effectively and accurately under tight deadlines
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong planning and organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or EA is preferred
  • Partnership experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare/review federal, state, local, and international tax filings (including partnership, sales/use, VAT, and property tax returns) and supporting workpapers
  • Coordinate and monitor U.S. and foreign tax obligations with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure timely compliance
  • Assist with quarterly tax estimates, extensions, and maintenance of the compliance calendar
  • Analyze tax-related general ledger accounts, payments, and accruals; investigate variances and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain partner tax records and elections; ensure consistency of tax data across systems
  • Work with the Partner Accounting team on tax matters, including estimated taxes for current and departed partners and reporting for non-active partners
  • Manage state Pass-Through Entity Tax (PTET) elections, calculations, payments, and related reporting across multiple jurisdictions; coordinate with partners and external advisors to ensure proper treatment, and alignment with individual partner tax positions
  • Manage tax notices and inquiries, including coordination with external advisors; support internal and external audits
  • Research federal, state, and international tax issues and prepare technical memoranda; monitor legislative and regulatory developments
  • Support and enhance tax-related systems and processes, including identifying automation opportunities and improving data flow and reporting efficiency
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within Finance and other departments to improve data flow, reporting efficiency, and internal controls
  • Lead or contribute to special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed

Benefits

  • The anticipated compensation range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000.
