About The Position

Flynn Hospitality is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Senior Tax Accountant to support the company’s tax compliance and reporting functions across a growing hospitality portfolio. This role will work closely with Finance, Payroll, Operations, and external tax partners to help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong tax compliance experience, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and experience working within a multi-entity environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of progressive tax/accounting experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Experience with payroll tax, sales/use tax, and property tax compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-state tax experience strongly preferred.
  • Hospitality, real estate, or multi-entity experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Avalara systems and configurations.
  • Familiarity with Profitsword preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including gross receipts, sales/use, occupancy, and payroll taxes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
  • Maintain tax calendars, filing deadlines, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist in reviewing tax filings prepared by external accounting firms and advisors.
  • Support tax notice resolution and agency correspondence.
  • Assist with occupancy tax compliance and jurisdictional tax requirements.
  • Monitor tax law updates impacting hospitality operations.
  • Support tax-related onboarding activities for new properties and transitions as needed.
  • Assist with gathering information for audits and year-end reporting.
  • Support tax-related reconciliations and documentation requests.
  • Partner with internal departments to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Maintain organized tax records and supporting schedules.
  • Coordinate with Payroll and HR teams regarding payroll tax reporting and related matters.
  • Assist with 1099 reporting and vendor tax documentation.
  • Help track and resolve tax notices and compliance issues.
  • Assist with maintaining tax processes and documentation procedures.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and organization.
  • Maintain accurate records within tax and financial reporting systems.
