About The Position

Roberts Group is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team in Tucson, Arizona. This role involves overseeing complex accounting matters, managing close processes, reviewing financial statements, and preparing/reviewing individual and business tax returns. The Senior Tax Accountant will also conduct tax research, apply technical guidance, support tax planning and advisory engagements, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. Additionally, the role includes reviewing work from team members, providing coaching and mentorship, and identifying process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of combined accounting and tax experience
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations
• Advanced proficiency in accounting and tax software
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching capabilities
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident or possess other unrestricted U.S. work authorization and will not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization now or anytime in the future.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complex accounting matters and manage close processes
• Review financial statements and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Prepare and review complex individual and business tax returns
• Conduct tax research and apply technical guidance to client scenarios
• Support advanced tax planning and advisory engagements
• Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point for client issues
• Communicate complex accounting and tax matters clearly to clients
• Review work prepared by team members and ensure quality standards
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to staff
• Identify and implement process improvements and workflow efficiencies
