Bala is seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead strategic recruiting initiatives and elevate our talent acquisition function. This individual will take a highly proactive, market-facing approach to recruiting – focusing on pipeline development, industry engagement, and partnership with leadership. This role will work closely with the HR Director to align recruiting strategy with business growth, workforce planning, and long-term talent objectives, while serving as a trusted advisor to hiring managers across the organization.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive recruiting experience, with at least 3 years of experience in a strategic or business partner level role
  • 3+ years of experience working in the AEC or related technical industry
  • Proven success in proactive sourcing and pipeline development for hard-to-fill, high-demand technical roles.
  • Strong experience partnering with executive leadership on workforce planning, hiring strategy, and business alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage passive candidates, build industry networks, and represent an employer in external forums and events.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, time management, and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and project management capabilities with experience tracking recruiting metrics and outcomes.
  • Experience with ATS/HRIS systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, AI, LinkedIn Recruiter).

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the HR Director and firm leadership to develop and execute a forward-looking talent acquisition strategy aligned with business goals and project pipeline.
  • Act as a consultative partner to hiring managers, advising on talent market conditions, compensation trends, and hiring strategies.
  • Build and maintain robust pipelines of passive candidates for key AEC roles (e.g., Professional Engineers, Project Managers, technical specialists).
  • Leverage advanced sourcing techniques (LinkedIn, networks, referrals, industry groups) to identify and engage high-caliber talent.
  • Develop targeted outreach campaigns and long-term relationship strategies with top talent in competitive markets.
  • Represent Bala at industry events, conferences, networking groups, universities, and professional associations to enhance brand visibility and attract talent.
  • Build relationships with key industry organizations and talent communities to strengthen recruiting pipelines.
  • Partner with marketing and HR leadership to enhance employer branding through content, events, and outreach initiatives.
  • In partnership with the TA Specialist, own the full-cycle recruiting process for assigned roles, from intake through onboarding.
  • Own assigned talent acquisition initiatives such as diversity sourcing strategies, referral programs, university partnerships, and experienced hire campaigns.
  • Analyze recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, pipeline strength, offer acceptance) and implement improvements to drive efficiency and quality of hire.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, TA, operations, and leadership to ensure a seamless hiring and onboarding experience.
