Senior Systems Engineer (Hybrid - Aguadilla, PR)
About The Position
The Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS) team is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to support programs for our US military and various international customers, keeping the world safe from foreign threats. SDS supports multiple Collins contracts and is seeking to fill roles across several open contracts – our goal is to align each new hire with a position that best suits their skills and allows for career growth. As a Systems Engineer, you will be a member of a team supporting communication system testing. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Nice To Haves
- Agile Scrum development experience.
- CI/CD software and system engineering awareness.
- Experience and/or knowledge in TypeScript, GitLab/Jama, Python Unit Testing, React Framework, Material UI, CAMEO
- Scrum Execution Training
- DevSecOps experience
Responsibilities
- Capture, analyze, decompose, and trace System requirements
- Design, develop, and model systems and sub-systems
- Develop and verify test procedures at the system and sub-system levels
- Plan project level work and meet schedule, cost, and performance goals
- Manage program technical risks by evaluating requirements and design aspects
- Interact with a cross-functional team of (including, but not limited to) Engineers, Engineering leaders, Program Managers, Business Developers, Finance, Quality, and Production
- Represent Systems engineering team at internal and external stakeholder meetings
- Perform code review, versioning, and production deployment
- Design, implement, and document Front-End features.
- Test functionality of front-end components.
