Senior Software Engineer (Hybrid - Aguadilla, PR)
About The Position
The Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS) team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to support programs for our US military and various international customers, keeping the world safe from foreign threats. SDS supports multiple Collins contracts and is seeking to fill roles across several open contracts – our goal is to align each new hire with a position that best suits their skills and allows for career growth. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, systems software design, operating systems, architectures, software development life cycle and processes.
- Experience with C++, Python and Object-oriented software design.
- Hands-on experience developing automated tests for embedded or software systems, such as unit, integration, or system-level testing.

Responsibilities
- Participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of embedded software, including application, middleware, operating system and supporting tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
- Lead the design, code, test, integration, and documentation software solutions.
- Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
- Design, build, and maintain complex CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
- Mentor junior engineers
