Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or PhD with relevant experience
  • This position requires a Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site

  • Proficiency with modern systems and digital engineering tools (e.g., MBSE, SysML/UML, DOORS, Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody) and development of plugins/extensions
  • Strong quantitative and modeling skills using languages and tools such as AFSIM, MATLAB, Python/R, STK, and Command PE for multi-level modeling, simulation, and operational effectiveness analysis
  • Deep systems and enterprise architecture experience, with broad systems engineering across concept development, requirements, design, test, evaluation, and risk assessment
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead systems engineering analyses in complex, multi-disciplinary systems-of-systems environments, including objective evaluation of vendor solutions and integration of models across tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of innovation, research, or publishing in systems, mission, or digital engineering

Responsibilities

  • Leverage and grow your systems engineering expertise to support the design, implementation, and integration of enterprise systems and systems-of-systems and analysis of missions for federal agencies.
  • Use your understanding of systems and mission engineering and an awareness of sponsor needs to determine areas where MITRE can have an impact.
  • Apply modern methods and tools such as Model-Based Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Mission Engineering, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics to assess capability needs, requirements, architectures, designs, performance constraints and gaps, proposed changes, and verification and test approaches.
  • Evaluate and compare alternative architectures using qualitative and quantitative techniques and explore large tradespaces.
  • Articulate major uncertainties associated with systems architectures and define risks and opportunities associated with those uncertainties.
  • Identify or develop metrics to measure and analyze relevant system properties, such as robustness, resiliency, interoperability, quality, and maintainability.
  • Support and lead requirements management and analysis, interface management, architecture development, architecture change management, and test and evaluation processes.
  • Perform system design and development, systems modernization, and architecture activities using MBSE and digital engineering approaches.
  • Translate analysis results into actionable recommendations for U.S. Government agencies.
  • Lead small teams of systems engineers and analysts to develop data-driven products to support government decision-making.
  • Participate in internal and external research opportunities in cutting-edge engineering fields.
