Senior Systems Engineer
About The Position
The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for design change analysis, analyzing system requirements, assessing design risks, testing, and making design changes for medical diagnostics instruments. You will be a part of the Value Engineering team and report to the Senior Manager responsible for Value Engineering, Product Reliability and End-of-Life component management for legacy hardware products. This position will be onsite in Chaska, MN. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Effectively manage project lifecycles, including analyzing requirements, developing test plans, creating project schedules, and tracking project status. Ability to facilitate design reviews for hardware changes to legacy products and conduct thorough bench and system-level testing to ensure functionality. Strong analytical skills, to analyze and interpret experimental data to formulate conclusions and make sound recommendations. Excels at both supporting and leading cross-functional teams. And effectively collaborate with other groups to resolve issues and achieve goals. Demonstrate a deep understanding of Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and R&D requirements and standard methodologies. And must be able to apply this knowledge to ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical, Reliability, or Systems Engineering (BS + 5 years or MS + 3 years of relevant experience)
- 4+ years of engineering experience, preferably in electro-mechanical, fluidics, medical devices, or aerospace environments
- Experience working with software-controlled systems or products
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in product testing, requirements interpretation, and system design and verification
- Strong engineering fundamentals
- Ability to travel periodically to support projects across global business units
