Senior Systems Engineer
About The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. This role involves performing technical analysis for systems design and development, conducting tasks throughout the systems engineering life cycle, and participating in the DoD design review process. The ideal candidate will be proficient in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques and support systems analysis, including discrete event simulation. Responsibilities also include executing and documenting test plans, making recommendations on technical alternatives and component selection, and demonstrating strong technical writing skills. This position requires collaboration with leadership, leading technical reviews, and mentoring junior engineers, all while working under the supervision of staff and chief engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited institution in relevant engineering or science discipline required
- 5+ years of professional experience in the required task area
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
Nice To Haves
- Master's Degree preferred
- Familiarity with a range of systems engineering tools - Cameo experience preferred
- Background in developing and/or testing aircraft and/or military components preferred
- Experience with systems integration, structural analysis and/or Python preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform technical analysis related to systems design and development
- Conduct tasks associated with systems engineering life cycle and the DoD design review process
- Utilize model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques
- Support systems analysis (e.g., discrete event simulation) with simulation techniques
- Follow, perform, and record the results of the execution of a test plan
- Exercise judgment to make recommendations on technical alternatives, component design or selection, and/or adaptation to meet assigned requirements
- Proficient in technical writing including white papers, customer deliverable documents, etc.
- Collaborate with leadership at all levels
- Lead technical reviews and meetings, internal and external
- Perform duties under supervision of staff and chief engineers
- Mentor less experienced engineers
- Other duties as assigned
