About The Position

As a systems engineer for the Strategic Weapons Control portfolio, you'll serve as an integral member of a cross-functional team responsible for the requirements development, detail design, manufacturing equipment purchase, field installation, test and integration, certification, and formal sell-off of a tactical-grade shore site laboratory facility that will directly support the United States Navy's Columbia-class Submarine Strategic Systems Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Candidate must be local to the area and work onsite.
  • Demonstrated success leading the systems development lifecycle with strong proficiency in requirements management and system modeling tools.
  • Creative thinker motivated to apply technical standards and methodologies to develop innovative and compliant solutions for complex tactical systems.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to provide technical leadership and position others for success across multi-discipline engineering teams.
  • Strong presentation and communications skills with experience in the art of negotiation and the ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing top-level facility requirements specifications and decomposing system requirements across subsystems and disciplines
  • Experience developing laboratory arrangement diagrams and facility layout documentation
  • Experience leading or supporting formal design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) with Government customers
  • Experience coordinating manufacturing equipment procurement, including vendor qualification, technical evaluation, and COTS/GOTS integration
  • Experience planning and executing field installation activities, including site surveys, installation sequencing, and subcontractor coordination
  • Experience developing and executing system integration and test plans, including writing and executing formal test procedures and managing anomaly reporting
  • Experience supporting Government certification activities, including Authority to Operate (ATO), RMF, facility accreditation, and system safety (MIL-STD-882)
  • Experience leading Government sell-off and final acceptance activities, including SAT/FQT execution, punch list resolution, and as-built documentation delivery
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings per MIL-STD-100
  • Familiarity with enterprise Product Data Management (PDM) systems such as Windchill
  • Familiarity with Engineering Transition to Production (ETP) processes and requirements
