The Senior Systems Engineer provides end-to-end systems engineering support for FAA infrastructure and operational systems, including architecture development, interface control, requirements analysis, testing, failover and disaster recovery planning, maintenance support, operational readiness, and system modernization support. This role supports mission-critical FAA capabilities whose success depends on resilient performance, rapid recovery, and disciplined engineering execution. The position spans configuration management, logistics support, systems test support, engineering support, systems maintenance, help desk support interactions, and information system security coordination. The role requires strong engineering judgment across lifecycle sustainment activities and the ability to produce technical artifacts, trade studies, transition plans, procedures, and recommendations in COR-approved formats. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in environments that include Linux, Windows, Cisco, FAA data center, and cloud-connected infrastructure and supporting engineering efforts involving virtualization, hybrid containerized architecture, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, CI/CD, RBAC, logging, monitoring, and vulnerability-management-related technical planning where identified by the SOW.
