About The Position

Performs high level engineering support on Navy surface ship combat systems requiring comprehensive knowledge and training on specialty systems. Considered technically competent on specialty systems. Recommends changes in technical application. Develops and applies advanced methods in the investigation and finds solutions of difficult military system design requirements and problems. Plans, conducts, and directs projects including coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical staff in the performance of assigned tasks. Evaluates system capabilities. Reviews completion of work including system enhancements. Position requires comprehensive knowledge to resolve complex problems and provide solutions. Full knowledge of industry practices. Ability to lead and train others. Ability to communicate technical information in an understanding manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 8 years’ experience in the design operation and/or maintenance of complex U.S. Navy Surface Combat Systems.
  • At least four (4) years' experience as a SPY Radar Technician
  • Experience in the analysis of recommended changes and in determining the impact on system readiness and user functionality.
  • Experience in reading design documents, evaluating high level interface block diagrams, evaluating commercial equipment, and part task trainer emulations.
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Must be cleared at the TS/SCI level.

Nice To Haves

  • Recent and relevant U.S. Navy shipboard experience with current surface combat systems, preferred.
  • Navy Instructor experience and Master Training Specialist (MTS) preferred.
  • Qualified TAO, AAWC, and/or CSC, preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel and PowerPoint, preferred.
