About The Position

The position of Senior System Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the organization’s IT infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.

Requirements

  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available IT infrastructure in a hybrid virtual environment.
  • Experience leading system architecture decisions, including servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
  • Experience planning and executing system upgrades including testing, migrations, and new technology deployments.
  • Experience developing and maintaining infrastructure standards, documentation, and best practices.
  • Experience ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies are in place and tested.
  • Experience monitoring systems performance, capacity, and reliability; troubleshooting and implementing improvements proactively.
  • Experience acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
  • Experience reducing manual processes and improving operational efficiency through automation and standardization.
  • Experience integrating systems and workflows across platforms and services.
  • Experience supporting cloud adoption strategies, including hybrid environments and migrations.
  • Experience optimizing cloud costs, performance, and scalability.
  • Experience working closely with IT leadership, developers, network engineers, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience leading or participating in infrastructure-related projects and initiatives.
  • Experience providing technical mentorship and guidance to junior administrators and engineers.
  • Experience contributing to long-term IT strategy and roadmap planning.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Ability to use good safety judgment and report all unsafe activities and conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available IT infrastructure in a hybrid virtual environment.
  • Lead system architecture decisions, including servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud platforms
  • Plan and execute system upgrades including testing, migrations, and new technology deployments around tight maintenance windows
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, documentation, and best practices
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies are in place and tested
  • Monitor systems performance, capacity, and reliability; troubleshoot and implement improvements proactively
  • Act as escalation point for complex technical issues for both IT and other business teams
  • Reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency through automation and standardization
  • Integrate systems and workflows across platforms and services
  • Support cloud adoption strategies, including hybrid environments and migrations
  • Optimize cloud costs, performance, and scalability
  • Work closely with IT leadership, developers, network engineers, and business stakeholders
