About The Position

As a Senior Systems Engineer, R&D Innovation, you will prototype and validate emerging technology initiatives, bridging early-stage experimentation and production readiness. You will extend Lynx’s core operating system, virtualization, and graphical and GPGPU capabilities into adjacent markets, assess product feasibility, and reduce risk in the transition from product concept to market. The role includes researching next-generation architectures, toolchains, and secure computing models; exploring emerging paradigms; working with academic and research partners; and translating proof-of-concept work into production-adjacent solutions. Additional job duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of experience in software, hardware, or embedded engineering.
• Proficiency in prototyping, rapid iteration, and exploratory development.
• Programming language experience with C (preferred), Python, Rust, OpenGL, or Vulkan.
• Solution integration experience with Linux, containers, virtualization, Kubernetes, or IPSec.
• Strong communication skills to present technical risk, feasibility, and tradeoffs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with safety-critical systems, real-time constraints, or low-level kernel and network stack development.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and test emerging technology features in areas adjacent to the core product roadmap.
• Lead research into next-generation architectures, toolchains, or secure computing models.
• Explore novel paradigms such as edge machine learning, neuromorphic computing, and quantum-resilient architectures.
• Engage with academic and research partners to stay at the forefront of technology.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for early-stage concepts.
• Translate proof-of-concept work into production-adjacent solutions.
