About The Position

The Strategic Communications team is seeking experienced Senior Systems Engineers in a role committed to creating creative and cost-effective solutions for our ground and airborne systems. As part of Collins Aerospace, Mission Systems organization, we specialize in developing advanced communication systems, ground and flight computers, sensors, cyber and software solutions, as well as providing integration of Mission Systems. As part of the Strategic Communications Department, the Systems Engineering department supports a variety of communications systems including SATCOM (including AEHF, EHF, X-Band, Ka-Band, Ku-Band, C-Band, and PTW), Line-of-Site (LOS) Radio Terminals and Secure Switching Networks.

Requirements

Strong integration and test experience including test procedure development, test execution, test reporting, and test automation
Proficient in tooling to include Microsoft products, or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.)
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

Experience in Communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, PTW, or V/UHF
Experience in Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT)
Experience in System Level Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) for ground based, ship, submarine, or airborne platforms
Experience in systems support to software application and hardware development
Experience in Virtual Machine design and deployment
Proficient in tooling to include CAMEO, Rhapsody
Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and ability to effectively communicate with IPT leaders, hardware and software development engineers, specialty engineers, program managers, and our customers

Responsibilities

Lead the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation
Define and perform lab activities including definition, setup, configuration management, and testing
Integrate solutions within their target environment
Coach and review the work of lower level professionals
Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
Manage small projects or processes
Manage the preparation and/or execution of Design Reviews as well as Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing
Review minor and document moderate changes in systems or processes to solve difficult and sometimes complex problems
Influence decision-makers with recommended courses of action
Analyze and document system behaviors
Support system trade studies, requirements analysis, allocation to subsystems
