Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Systems Engineers are interested in developing and testing next generation of optical systems. We are seeking a Systems Engineer who also serves as an Agile Product Owner, combining strong systems engineering fundamentals with a solid background in software engineering, requirements management, and Agile team leadership. This is an onsite position in McKinney, Texas.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience in systems and software engineering.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Prior Product Owner or Agile leadership experience
  • Experience with defense-related systems engineering
  • Experience with DOORS/DNG, Cameo, Jira, Confluence or similar tools
  • Proficiency with C++, Python, or similar programing languages
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, or performance analysis

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Agile Product Owner for a cross-functional engineering team
  • Translate stakeholder needs into clear user stories, features, and system-level requirements.
  • Lead requirements development, decomposition, traceability, and V&V planning.
  • Coordinate across software, systems, hardware, and test engineering teams.
  • Support system integration, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
  • Conduct technical trade studies and contribute to architecture decisions.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and maintain the product backlog.
  • Present technical status and risks to leadership and customers.
