Senior Systems Engineer - Agile Product Owner

Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Systems Engineers are interested in developing and testing next generation of optical systems. We are seeking a Systems Engineer who also serves as an Agile Product Owner, combining strong systems engineering fundamentals with a solid background in software engineering, requirements management, and Agile team leadership. This is an onsite position in McKinney, Texas.
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience in systems and software engineering.
- Agile development
- Experience with system hardware/software integration
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Nice To Haves
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- Prior Product Owner or Agile leadership experience
- Experience with defense-related systems engineering
- Experience with DOORS/DNG, Cameo, Jira, Confluence or similar tools
- Proficiency with C++, Python, or similar programing languages
- Experience with modeling, simulation, or performance analysis
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Agile Product Owner for a cross-functional engineering team
- Translate stakeholder needs into clear user stories, features, and system-level requirements.
- Lead requirements development, decomposition, traceability, and V&V planning.
- Coordinate across software, systems, hardware, and test engineering teams.
- Support system integration, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
- Conduct technical trade studies and contribute to architecture decisions.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and maintain the product backlog.
- Present technical status and risks to leadership and customers.
