About The Position

AT&T Global Public Sector is seeking a Senior System Administrator to support operations by maintaining, documenting, and administering enterprise IT systems. This role will deliver helpdesk and troubleshooting support, oversee problem resolution, and maintain system configurations to ensure availability, reliability, and security. The position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week at the customer's site in Suitland, MD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Eight years of relevant systems administration or infrastructure-support experience.
  • Experience supporting Windows, Linux, VMware, enterprise applications, hardware, and software.
  • Experience with incident resolution, system maintenance, technical documentation, and change-control processes.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance, access eligibility, and customer approvals.
  • Active TS w/SCI Eligibility with poly

Nice To Haves

  • Security+ or relevant certification.
  • Experience supporting classified, secure, disconnected, or restricted environments.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or other system-administration automation.
  • Experience with vulnerability remediation, system hardening, monitoring, backup, and recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, administer, monitor, patch, upgrade, and maintain enterprise systems.
  • Support Windows, Red Hat Linux, Trusted Linux, VMware, applications, endpoints, and related infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, access, performance, connectivity, and availability issues.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement authorized corrective actions.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Support backups, restoration, recovery testing, and continuity procedures.
  • Implement approved security patches, configuration changes, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Monitor system health, capacity, performance, services, logs, and storage utilization.
  • Maintain system documentation, SOPs, technical manuals, work logs, configuration records, and help-desk tickets.
  • Support configuration management, change control, system testing, deployment, sustainment, modernization, and decommissioning.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity, network, database, software, systems engineering, and government teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior administrators.
  • Comply with classified-information handling, Information Assurance, access-control, and customer-security requirements.
