About The Position

Arlington County's Department of Technology Services (DTS) is hiring an experienced Senior Systems Administrator (Microsoft Exchange) to provide high-level work as part of the Hosting and Infrastructure team. The Hosting and Infrastructure team is responsible for the administration and operational reliability of the County’s enterprise infrastructure, including server environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office 365 services. The Senior Systems Administrator (Microsoft Exchange) will serve as the senior technical resource for the County’s email and messaging environment, supporting a Microsoft Exchange and Azure-based platform used across all departments. The role is responsible for ensuring system availability, security, and performance and functions as the lead administrator for this service area.

Requirements

• Proven experience performing advanced systems administration work.
• Experience managing Exchange environments.
• Experience administering mailboxes and identity services.
• Experience implementing security controls (e.g., SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Experience monitoring system performance.
• Experience resolving complex mail flow and authentication issues.

Responsibilities
