About The Position

The Senior Systems Accountant is a hands-on subject matter expert responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing Acrisure’s Workday Finance environment. The role provides day-to-day support for issue resolution, process improvements, system configuration, and end-user assistance, combining accounting knowledge with Workday technical skills and a continuous improvement mindset. The position works with Accounting and Finance stakeholders to analyze business needs, document requirements, deliver system solutions, monitor interfaces and data flows, support system releases and implementations, and maintain data integrity. It also creates process documentation and provides end-user training. The position requires an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, information systems, or a related field.
3–5+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or Financial Systems roles.
Experience with Workday Finance in a systems, configuration, or functional analyst capacity.
Experience with ERP or financial systems such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
Familiarity with financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow, and with core accounting principles.
Working knowledge of Workday Finance configuration, including business process design, security roles, and reporting.
Solid understanding of accounting processes including GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, and financial close cycles.
Familiarity with system integrations, API concepts, ETL processes, and change management practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in business and technical roles.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities while meeting deadlines and producing meaningful deliverables.

Nice To Haves

Workday certification or direct experience with Workday Finance modules such as Accounting Center, Financial Accounting, or Procurement.
Prior involvement in ERP implementations or large-scale financial systems projects.
CPA, CMA, or equivalent accounting certification.
Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.

Responsibilities

Support the administration and configuration of Workday Finance, including business process frameworks, security roles, and user setup.
Act as a functional subject matter resource for Workday Finance, with working knowledge of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Financial Close.
Partner with Accounting and Finance stakeholders to analyze business problems, document requirements, and support Workday Finance solutions.
Assist in developing business requirements, test scripts, and training documentation for Workday Finance projects and enhancements.
Troubleshoot system issues and configuration errors, identify root causes, and escalate or coordinate resolutions with IT or the Accounting Systems Manager.
Monitor system interfaces, integrations, and data flows between Workday Finance and upstream and downstream systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Analyze accounting processes and identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and Workday configuration improvements.
Support system upgrades, Workday bi-annual releases, and new module implementations; assist with regression testing and change communication.
Participate in user acceptance testing and validate that system changes meet functional and accounting requirements.
Create and maintain standard operating procedures, user guides, and process documentation; deliver end-user training on Workday Finance functionality.
Support data governance processes and perform routine data quality reviews to ensure integrity across the Workday Finance ecosystem.
