Senior System Software Engineer - Tegra Boot Stack Firmware

About The Position

NVIDIA is seeking energetic, enthusiastic, and technologically savvy engineers to join the Tegra Core Firmware team. This team architects and develops the boot stack firmware for flagship Tegra chipsets, which are core components for high-compute platforms in automotive, datacenter, and other critical applications. The ideal candidates will possess excellent C and Python programming skills, a thorough understanding of operating systems and kernel programming, a good grasp of hardware architecture, and strong communication and planning abilities. Familiarity with automotive functional safety and security standards and their application in semiconductor projects is also beneficial.

Requirements

BS or MS degree in EE/CS/CE or equivalent experience
5+ years of relevant proven experience
Experience in low-level boot firmware development, specifically in areas of ARM technologies and programming
Excellent C and Python programming and debugging skills
Detailed and extensive experience with Linux kernel software
Excellent Interpersonal Skills

Nice To Haves

Experience on bare metal is an additional plus.
Experience in automotive software development and verification process under the V-model would be a plus.
Demonstrate your passion for building new technologies

Articulate your thoughts succinctly
Experience working with AI tools such as Codex, creating agentic AI tools

Responsibilities

Build robust features for Tegra core boot firmware under the V-model established by safety and security standards.
Define, decompose, and verify functional/safety requirements and architecture.
Perform failure analysis (FMEA/DFA) on Bootloader functionality and architecture.
Collaborate with internal and external team members to develop partnerships.
Validate and verify features on pre-silicon simulation platforms prior to tapeout.
Engage in silicon verification, feature development, and post-silicon support.
