About The Position

Indotronix is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer professional for an exciting job opportunity. This role involves developing and implementing MIL STD 882E compliant system safety programs, performing various system safety tasks and analyses, and working across integrated product teams to eliminate hazards or implement controls. The position requires coordination with customer safety representatives, applying methods and standards to clarify system requirements for software, hardware, and test personnel, and ensuring design and architecture considerations are appropriately allocated and integrated. Collaboration with Program Management and government approval authorities throughout the program lifecycle is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

  • BS Degree or MS Degree
  • 3 to 5 years experience
  • Must be able to obtain clearance - can start uncleared

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing one or more MIL STD 882E compliant system safety programs
  • Performing MIL STD 882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400)
  • Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls
  • Coordinating with customer safety representatives applying methods, standards, and techniques to provide clarification of system requirements to software, hardware, and test personnel to ensure design and architecture considerations are appropriately allocated to the system and horizontally integrated across the development teams
  • Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds
  • Performing System Safety planning, hazard analyses, and design analyses
  • Briefing safety considerations at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
  • Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards
  • Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program
  • Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design
  • Interfacing with other engineering functions: Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering
  • Managing System Safety Working Group(s) between key Raytheon and Customer representatives
