About The Position

Delta Workforce is hiring a Senior System Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama, for its technology company client. This is a full-time, direct-hire, 100% on-site position. Relocation is available for the right candidate. The role involves systems engineering across virtualization, networking, storage, and cloud environments, including Azure, AWS, OpenStack, and on-premises infrastructure. The engineer will plan and conduct system test programs, automate installation and configuration tasks, support Windows Server environments, prototype IT solutions, and train junior staff. An active Top Secret clearance is required, and the successful candidate must be able to obtain a CI polygraph after hire.

Requirements

Maintain an active Top Secret clearance (Federal/DoD).
Be able to obtain a CI polygraph after hire.
Have a four-year college degree in computer engineering plus five years of experience designing and implementing IT systems in production, or 10 or more years of that experience in lieu of the degree, at or above this position level.
Have disciplined troubleshooting skills.
Be self-motivated with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Plan, direct, and conduct system test programs on virtualization equipment.
Prepare reports and presentations.
Train junior staff.
Use tools and scripting, mainly PowerShell, to automate installation, configuration, and management.
Design systems using hypervisors and virtualization.
Provide networking, storage, and virtualization support.
Evaluate emerging technologies.
Develop cloud infrastructure using Azure and AWS, as well as on-premises cloud infrastructure using OpenStack.
Work with Windows Server roles and features, Failover Cluster Manager, RSAT, Windows Admin Center, and Azure Arc.
Prototype new IT solutions.
