Senior System Engineer - Wireless
About The Position
Sydney Trains is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer – Wireless to provide technical leadership and engineering authority for business critical wireless systems that keep our network operating safely and efficiently. In this role, you’ll lead the engineering lifecycle of complex wireless systems from concept and design through to implementation, integration and ongoing support. You’ll work across multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative technical solutions, drive systems engineering activities, manage technical integration, and ensure our wireless infrastructure continues to meet the needs of one of Australia’s largest rail networks.
Requirements
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering (Telecommunications or a related discipline preferred), eligible for professional membership with Engineers Australia.
- At least three years’ experience applying systems engineering methodologies across the full system development lifecycle.
- Extensive experience designing, integrating and supporting complex wireless systems.
- Strong knowledge of wireless technologies, telecommunications infrastructure and IP networking.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong systems engineering expertise.
- Extensive experience in wireless and telecommunications technologies, including 3G/4G/5G mobile networks, UHF radio systems, IP networking and wireless infrastructure.
- Hands on experience applying systems engineering methodologies, including requirements management, verification and validation, RAMS and FMECA analysis.
