About The Position

The Senior System Administrator provides technical support and training for the Aviation Logistics Information Management System (ALIMS) at MALS-31, sustaining aviation programs of record and the networks supporting 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing aviation readiness and deployable capability. The position is contingent upon contract award and is onsite at MCAS Beaufort, South Carolina. An active Secret clearance is required. The role plans, implements, and manages complex server and network infrastructures for uptime, security, and performance. It includes system architecture design; administration of VMware and Linux virtualization environments and cloud environments; security functions such as firewalls, backups, and system protection; scripting for automation; and mentoring junior technical staff. The administrator also manages, installs, and maintains network infrastructure, hardware, software, and application support environments, and deploys LANs while securing information systems and ensuring connectivity in operational and forward-deployed settings. The position provides on-the-job and specialized training to ALIMS personnel on operating and servicing program-of-record equipment. It manages and troubleshoots server operating systems such as RHEL and Windows Server and hypervisors such as VMware that support systems such as NTCSS; isolates and repairs faults; and submits support requests to NIWC and NAVAIR. It performs advanced technical analysis for network architecture planning, installation, and operation; supports deployed and garrison networks, including external connectivity; and manages vulnerability remediation and POA&M submissions. The administrator serves as a technical advisor for AIS program-of-record operations and supports the Tactical Aviation Data Network and other communications equipment in deployed environments, including aboard the T-AVB. Success means ALIMS and supporting server and network systems remain available, secure, and compliant; faults are resolved with appropriate NIWC and NAVAIR coordination; vulnerability and POA&M actions remain current; personnel are effectively trained; and network support helps keep the MALS mission-ready.
