POSITION PURPOSE: The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, administration, automation, security, and continuous improvement of Boardwalk Pipelines' enterprise Linux infrastructure. This role serves as a senior technical leader within the System Administration team, partnering with other senior engineers to establish and evolve Linux platform standards, automation strategies, operational processes, and security practices across both on-premises and AWS-hosted environments. The position provides expert-level administration and support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Amazon Linux systems, ensuring the reliability, availability, performance, and security of critical infrastructure supporting business and operational applications. The Senior Systems Administrator leads complex troubleshooting efforts, oversees operating system lifecycle management, drives vulnerability remediation and patch management initiatives, and develops automation solutions that improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability throughout the environment. This role requires a highly motivated and self-directed professional who can independently manage complex technical challenges, collaborate effectively with application, database, networking, cloud, and security teams, and contribute to the modernization of infrastructure through automation, standardization, documentation, and continuous process improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing Boardwalk's Linux platform strategy while ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and alignment with enterprise technology objectives.
