About The Position

Administer and provide central accountability for all Infrastructure server services, including the function, organization, expansion, and technical support of existing and future Windows and Linux-based physical and virtual system configurations and supporting systems software. This includes operating systems, utilities, databases, cloud services, and middleware necessary to deliver services such as hosting, web, messaging, remote access, and security administration to support Edfinancial Services, EdAmerica, and Medfinancial systems. This role also serves as an escalation point for System Administrators.

Requirements

  • Broad base of knowledge and skills in server infrastructure, and operating systems to include Windows, Linux, Hyper-V, VMware, and Microsoft Azure including but not limited to IaaS, SaaS, PaaS and serverless services.
  • Experience maintaining the active directory environment including Azure Active Directory, DHCP, GPO, DNS, and certificate management.
  • Experience managing and monitoring M365 environment including mail flow and collaboration products such as email, Sharepoint, Dynamics, Teams, and licensing.
  • Experience providing primary support for all physical and virtual servers.
  • Experience monitoring services for growth and usage trends.
  • Experience performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all servers, applications, services, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
  • Experience recommending, installing, testing, and managing existing and new servers and software.
  • Experience providing technical assistance related to daily and assigned use.
  • Experience diagnosing system hardware, software, and operator problems.
  • Experience performing, overseeing, monitoring, and ensuring data security including regular backups, recovery, verification of security rights and other steps necessary to ensure data integrity.
  • Experience collaborating with Security team and other IT staff to implement, update, and test ongoing security improvements including regular and timely operating system patches, security patches, and other application updates.
  • Experience collaborating with other staff to create, test, and keep up to date disaster recovery procedures.
  • Experience setting up, installing, testing, and administering network printing functions.
  • Experience assisting with project definition, requirements documentation, and technical writing.
  • Experience monitoring and enforcing license agreements using appropriate tools relative to hardware and software resources.
  • Experience monitoring and creating regular management reports that track usage, performance, capacity, growth trends, etc.
  • Experience collaborating with IT Network staff to install, configure, and ensure the tight integration of web services, network links, hardware, and peripheral components into the company LAN and Azure environment.
  • Ability to keep current with new technologies being deployed at the company.
  • Willingness to participate in off-hour support rotation.
  • Ability to train selected staff for coverage during absentee periods.
  • Ability to deal regularly with outside computer vendors and perform liaison functions between company users and outside consultants/vendors.

  • Exhibit a broad base of knowledge and skills in server infrastructure, and operating systems to include Windows, Linux, Hyper-V, VMware, and Microsoft Azure including but not limited to IaaS, SaaS, PaaS and serverless services.
  • Maintain the active directory environment including Azure Active Directory, DHCP, GPO, DNS, and certificate management.

  • Provide technical assistance related to daily and assigned use; assist customers and desktop support staff in identifying source of, and correcting errors.
  • Diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems; recommend or perform remedial action.
  • Perform, oversee, monitor, and ensure data security including regular backups, recovery, verification of security rights and other steps necessary to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with Security team and other IT staff to implement, update, and test ongoing security improvements including regular and timely operating system patches, security patches, and other application updates.
  • Collaborate with other staff to create, test, and keep up to date disaster recovery procedures.
  • Set up, install, test, and administer network printing functions.
  • Assist the IT Infrastructure Manager and IT Systems Engineers in project definition, requirements documentation, and technical writing.
  • Monitor and enforce license agreements using appropriate tools relative to hardware and software resources.
  • Monitor and create regular management reports that track usage, performance, capacity, growth trends, etc.
