About The Position

Marsh USA LLC is seeking candidates for multiple full-time Senior Surety Advisor positions based in the New York, NY office. This role is responsible for assessing and monitoring the financial health and business requirements of a portfolio of US Multinational clients to design customized surety bond programs with favorable terms and conditions. A key aspect of the role involves working with clients and banks to de-risk clients’ letters of credit portfolios by shifting risks into the surety insurance market. The Senior Surety Advisor will collaborate with senior colleagues and project specialists to identify key decision-makers, assess account needs and underlying risks, and determine the optimal combination of services and products to meet clients’ business objectives and compliance requirements, ultimately driving account expansion. Additionally, the role requires conducting research and analysis to identify new buyer hubs and new product applications to uncover expansion opportunities by aligning internal offerings with market trends, with the goal of institutionalizing accounts within the business. The Senior Surety Advisor will analyze and conceptualize quantitative and qualitative data from projects, accounts, and markets to develop viable proposals for personal or senior colleagues’ accounts, and assist in crafting custom solutions for complex accounts, supporting or leading presentations to senior colleagues or clients. This role involves working on and leading global growth strategies with stakeholders largely based between London and New York.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Marketing and Management, or a related field.
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible post baccalaureate experience in the position offered, or a related position.
  • Five (5) years of experience utilizing knowledge of the legal fundamentals of surety bonds, including the roles and responsibilities of contractors, beneficiaries, and surety companies to effectively negotiate transactions between clients and sureties’ legal counsels.
  • Five (5) years of experience using S&P Cap IQ, or Moody’s Analytics platform to conduct screening, research and development and sales targeting of clients and prospective clients.
  • Five (5) years of experience analyzing and interpreting company balance sheets, financial statements and project metrics to assess creditworthiness and inform bond-related decisions.
  • Five (5) years of experience building and nurturing relationships with clients, underwriters, and key stakeholders across a range of industry sectors including, financial institutions, technology and energy to ensure trust and long-term engagement.
  • Five (5) years of experience managing a diverse client bonding portfolio with attention to performance, renewal cycles, and risk exposure.
  • Five (5) years of experience working with both banks and insurance companies to facilitate the syndicating and sharing of risk exposures.
  • Experience working with the London insurance market.
