This is a highly visible role responsible for converting demand into supply plans, managing capacity and component constraints, monitoring forward-quarter coverage, resolving supply risks, and communicating performance and risks to Operations leadership. The role also contributes to process and tooling improvements, including use of AI-assisted tools. This is a remote role open to candidates residing in the United States, except Alaska, Austin Metro, Boulder Metro, California, Chicago Metro, Connecticut, Dallas Metro, Denver Metro, Houston Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Seattle Metro, and Washington, D.C.

Requirements

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or Economics.
  • At least 6 years of combined experience in consulting and supply chain planning, supply planning, material planning, or inventory management; 4 or more years may qualify with a Master's degree.
  • Experience building supply plans against factory capacity and component constraints, including capacity planning and Clear to Build (component and material availability).
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to lay out assumptions, risks, and opportunities clearly in logical models.
  • Strong communication skills, including synthesizing information for stakeholders ranging from planners and factory contacts to executives.
  • Attention to detail while maintaining a broad view of business priorities.
  • Proactive, positive problem-solving approach and comfort with ambiguity, changing priorities, and business volatility.
  • Working knowledge of ERP and planning systems, such as NetSuite and E2Open, Salesforce, and spreadsheet-based modeling.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Programming and data skills, including SQL and Python, and experience with BI tools such as Databricks or Tableau.
  • Electronics or hardware manufacturing experience, ideally with contract manufacturers or JDMs.
  • Experience with vendor-managed inventory, third-party logistics, or global multi-distribution-center networks.
  • Experience with new product introductions, product transitions, and end-of-life planning.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve planning workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Convert the demand plan into supply plans and targets by SKU, region, and distribution center, aligned to revenue and cost objectives.
  • Drive capacity planning with Global Ops Engineering; maintain rolling 12-month production and capacity plans and recommend tradeoffs when capacity or components are constrained.
  • Influence Clear to Build (CTB) for the portfolio by working with Production Procurement to confirm component and material availability and flag shortages early.
  • Publish supply targets to factories and VMI partners, and track commits, estimated times of departure, and landed supply against targets.
  • Monitor weekly coverage across the full forward quarter, identify risk before it becomes shortage or excess, and run simulations as needed to account for real-time supply chain changes.
  • Resolve supply risks using appropriate levers, including rebalancing, transfers, and air upgrades, in partnership with Order Operations and Production Procurement.
  • Partner with Demand Planning, NPI, and Finance Analysis on demand changes, new product ramps, transitions, and end-of-sale.
  • Plan VMI, ROP accessory, and refurbished supply while minimizing excess and obsolete material.
  • Report performance against targets and communicate supply risks to Operations leadership.
  • Improve processes and tooling, using data and AI-assisted tools to reduce manual work.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's operating and cultural principles as the company scales.
