Position is accountable to establish, administer and implement activities required to support customer requirements. This includes but is not limited to material requirement planning and capacity requirement planning to support forecast and customer requirements. This position reports to Supply Chain Manager and is accountable for identifying requirements, developing plans, and facilitating the fulfillment of all demand streams for assigned purchased parts. Collaborates with Buyers and production personnel to identify and communicate supplier capacity issues in support of internal customer demand. This opening is to bring added planning support to the team working with Howmet. This role might require 5-10% travel

Requirements

Bachelor degree with planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience as Master Scheduler or similar role
Must have strong scheduling and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Analytical, problem solving and decision - making skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills required.
Computer/ system skills/ MS Office skills, with an emphasis on MS Excel and ERP systems required
Requires a strong tie to internal customers to effectively interface and facilitate ongoing feedback between the buyer and the client.
Manufacturing principles as applied by Solar and our suppliers.
Maintain and promote the highest level of professionalism and business ethics.
Requires knowledge of inventory and planning and a basic understanding of manufacturing operations, with product (blades, nozzles) and commodity (investment castings) knowledge preferred.

Nice To Haves

APICS certification and knowledge of basic 6-Sigma principles preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for managing purchased material requirements and taking appropriate actions to ensure material availability when needed, with appropriate inventory levels. Includes development and maintenance of planning data with MRP, order release process and coordination with buyers on capacity.
Collaborate with Buyer and SDE on ordering technique and communication of shortage as well as coordination with Manufacturing Production Scheduler on demand and status.
Focal point for purchased material commitments, follow up with supplier deliveries, and schedule changes.
Investigate schedule delays, establish and communicate revised schedules.
When constraints exist, work with the business to identify/execute options to improve and prioritize enterprise requirements based on need.
Reschedule purchased material commit dates and provide input to Buyer on supplier delivery performance.
Maintain data accuracy in the BAAN system (e.g., ensure dates are current, part set-up, lot sizes, etc).
Actively involved in the change configuration process and responsible for establishing purchased part implementation dates.
Facilitate collaboration between engineering, operations, supply chain and change control personnel to ensure an on time successful change implementation.
Monitor revision changes of purchased parts into supermarkets with Supplier, Supplier Development Engineer and Production Scheduler in Manufacturing, work with Buyer as necessary to amend contract to incorporate revisions.
Responsible for drop ship logistics for OV make complete parts (e.g., castings to a machine house or processing supplier).
Provide supplier schedule information for NPI on specific assigned parts.
Actively involved in projects in support of business objectives: cost reduction, inventory reduction, lead-time reduction, lean manufacturing, and 6-Sigma efforts.
Support demand simulations.
