About The Position

Nscale is scaling fast and requires a robust spares and vendor management function to ensure reliable GPU and supporting hardware infrastructure across all datacenter regions. This role involves owning the sparing strategy and vendor governance, from documenting existing vendor support models to developing processes for ensuring spare parts availability. The position requires close collaboration with data center operations, infrastructure teams, and OEM/vendor partners to transform support agreements and consumption data into a proactive sparing program. It is a hands-on role for an individual who excels at building processes from the ground up, holding vendors accountable, and managing complex operational programs.

Requirements

Strong communicator with a bias for action and a clear understanding of trade-offs.
8+ years of experience in supply chain management, including vendor management.
Prior experience managing supply chain workflows for datacenter or AI hyperscalers.
Experience supporting business operations and understanding operational realities.
Strong cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
Comfortable working with global team members, hands-on with data, and dealing with ambiguity.
Ability to hold vendors accountable.

Responsibilities

Document current vendor support models, entitlements, and SLAs for compute, network, and cooling OEMs to establish a single source of truth.
Analyze current spare parts movement and identify gaps.
Build working relationships with data center operations and facilities stakeholders.
Define and implement sparing plans, including part types, quantities, and stocking locations, sized according to fleet criticality.
Continuously monitor sparing plans against actual consumption and failure data.
Build a governance framework and cadence (e.g., QBRs, SLA scorecards) to ensure vendor accountability for committed spares and service SLAs.
Serve as the primary point of contact for holding vendors accountable to their commitments.
Provide visibility on spares availability, consumption rates, and fill rates across the business.
Define KPIs to measure program effectiveness.
Refine processes between Nscale and vendors regarding spare parts.
Take on a growing share of strategic sparing and vendor strategy as the hardware footprint expands.
