About The Position

The Senior Supplier Quality Surveillance Engineer is responsible for supporting Procurement in the implementation and execution of Procurement Supplier Quality Inspections and audits. This role involves performing quality assurance and quality control shop inspections and audits to ensure critical materials and engineered equipment purchased meet or exceed customer and contract quality and workmanship expectations. The Inspector will assist in ensuring subcontracts or corporate agreements for goods and services meet Rosendin Procurement quality standards and customer expectations. A working understanding of Rosendin electrical equipment and materials related to fabrication, testing, and functionality is required. The role involves reporting manufacturing problems to management and project personnel, assisting in identifying and correcting these problems, and communicating inspection and audit results with recommendations for corrective actions. The position requires a thorough knowledge of Procurement quality procedures, documents, and reporting structures, and will assist Rosendin Procurement in supplier/subcontractor prequalification by providing input on fabricator quality programs through audits and assessments. Support will be provided to Divisions and projects in overseeing fabricator and subcontractor quality, and reviewing Supplier/Subcontractor Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to assist in developing corrective action plans. Coordination with Quality Managers for final disposition and NCR sign-off is also part of the role, along with providing input to Rosendin Procurement on the overall quality performance of suppliers and subcontractors. The role demands highly skilled written and verbal communication abilities, including leading pre-fabrication meetings, creating pre-fabrication checklists, and writing inspection/audit reports.

Requirements

  • Broad working knowledge of all design/craft disciplines and engineered equipment/materials associated with renewable energy and electrical projects and must be familiar with their special processes, inspection, and testing techniques.
  • Broad working knowledge of: Transformers (Power, Distribution, Isolation), Switchgear (MV/LV, metal-clad, metal-enclosed, gas insulated), Busway, Panelboards, Circuit breakers, UPS (static switches, PDU, Inverters), Generators, BESS and PV inverter modules, Wire and cable (DC feeder, MV cable, MCM, Wire harness).
  • Must be familiar with electrical procurement and vendor surveillance procedures.
  • Working knowledge of construction industry codes and standards related to the manufacture and testing of electrical components/systems such as IEEE, IECC, NEC, NFPA, NESC, IBC, IFC, etc.
  • Be detail-oriented.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a team player but able to work independently, to meet intense deadlines, goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance and quality control shop inspections and audits to ensure critical materials and engineered equipment purchased meet or exceed our customer’s and contract quality and workmanship expectations.

  • Report to management and Project personnel about manufacturing problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
  • Communicate inspection and audit results, both verbally and written, and recommend necessary corrective actions.
  • Assist Rosendin Procurement in Supplier/Subcontractor prequalification by providing input on the fabricator’s quality program by performing supplier audits/assessments.
  • Provide support to Divisions and projects in overseeing fabricator and subcontractor quality as needed.
  • Review Supplier/Subcontractor Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and assist in developing corrective action plans.
  • Coordinate with Quality Managers to approve final disposition and sign off NCR’s.
  • Provide input to Rosendin Procurement in rating the overall quality performance of suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
