We have everything you need for a dynamic career! We’re seeking an experienced Senior/Supervisor Accountant to join our growing Client Accounting Services (CAS) team. This role is based in our NYC office and follows a hybrid work schedule. The CAS Senior/Supervisor Accountant owns the monthly close and ongoing accounting operations for a portfolio of closely-held business clients. This role blends hands-on bookkeeping, journal entry review, financial reporting, and client-facing advisory. The Accountant works independently on most engagements, reviews staff-level work, and serves as the day-to-day point of contact for clients on accounting matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in public accounting or outsourced/CAS environment
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills for direct client interaction

Nice To Haves

  • CPA license or active candidate
  • Experience with cloud accounting tools (Bill.com, Ramp, Expensify, Avalara)
  • Experience with practice management platforms (Double, Karbon, or similar)
  • Exposure to multiple industries and entity types (S-corp, partnership, LLC)

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly close process for an assigned client portfolio: bank and credit card reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, deferrals, and supporting schedules
  • Review and post journal entries (accruals under ASC 450, prepaid amortization under ASC 340, deferred revenue under ASC 606, depreciation under ASC 360)
  • Categorize and review transactions for accuracy, proper period cutoff, and correct GL coding
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements and management reporting packages
  • Manage AP and AR workflows, including vendor onboarding, 1099 compliance, and collections support
  • Oversee sales tax compliance and reconciliations across applicable states
  • Review work prepared by staff accountants and provide coaching and feedback
  • Serve as primary client contact for accounting questions, document requests, and close timelines
  • Prepare year-end books for tax return handoff, including M-1 book/tax difference schedules
  • Identify and recommend process improvements and automation opportunities within the client’s accounting stack
