THE WORK: You'll perform and oversee inspection of structural work including bridges, retaining walls, and related heavy civil components You'll ensure construction complies with project plans, specifications, and applicable standards. You'll coordinate closely with contractors, designers, and client representatives on structural issues. You'll review submittals, RFIs, and field changes related to structural elements. You'll document inspection activities, maintain daily reports, and support project controls systems. You'll identify and proactively resolve construction and quality issues in the field. You'll provide mentorship and guidance to junior inspectors and field staff.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in construction inspection, with a strong focus on structural/bridge work
  • 10+ years of experience on heavy civil transportation projects (rail, roadway, grade separations, or similar)
  • 10+ years of experience in structural inspection, including reinforced concrete, steel structures, and foundation systems

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of Caltrans standards and specifications preferred
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Caltrans Structure Representative, ACI, AWS, or equivalent) strongly preferred
