About The Position

This role is within the Infrastructure & Capital Projects team, focusing on managing costs for projects. The Senior Cost Manager will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and managing project-specific Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Plans in alignment with the Global Construction Safety Policy and OSHA regulations. They will lead the development and implementation of cost control systems, plans, and procedures across project portfolios, monitoring budgets, expenditures, and forecasts to ensure compliance with financial objectives. The role involves identifying cost variances, risks, and savings opportunities, preparing detailed cost reports, conducting variance analysis, cash flow tracking, and earned value performance reporting. The Senior Cost Manager will partner with various teams including project management, engineering, procurement, and finance, acting as a trusted financial advisor and leading/mentoring cost control team members. Driving process improvement and standardization in cost management practices and tools is also a key aspect of this position. The work location is onsite at client sites, with some in-person time for collaboration and relationship building expected. The employer aims to be flexible in supporting work/life needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • 7+ years in project cost control or financial analysis, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role supporting large capital or industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, earned value management (EVM), and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or equivalent ERP systems and expert use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and communicate financial implications.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in life sciences, manufacturing, construction, or large-scale infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • 10+ years in project cost control or financial analysis, with at least 8 years in a leadership or managerial role supporting large capital or industrial projects.
  • Advance knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, earned value management (EVM), and financial reporting.
  • Advance proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or equivalent ERP systems and expert use of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor cost control team members, fostering professional development and accountability.
  • Drive process improvement and standardization in cost management practices and tools.
