About The Position

Southern Engineering Company (SEC) is seeking a senior structural engineer to join the growing design-build business line within the Wayne Brothers’ family of companies. In the role, the senior engineer will engage in structural design related to industrial projects of various types and provide oversight to design teams to deliver construction ready drawings, specifications, supporting calculations and other related deliverables. Projects will provide a wide-ranging variety of concrete and structural steel design activities largely related to equipment support, industrial structures, access/egress, as well as concrete containment and storage solutions. The position can be based from any of our Operation Centers located in Davidson, NC, Walterboro, SC or Eagleville, TN. Requirements

Senior structural engineer
Structural design related to industrial projects
Provide oversight to design teams
Deliver construction ready drawings, specifications, supporting calculations and other related deliverables
Concrete and structural steel design activities
Equipment support, industrial structures, access/egress, concrete containment and storage solutions
Some travel will be required, primarily focused within the southeastern United States

Responsibilities

Integral member of the design-build process from conception through construction
Responsible for timely completion of structural analysis to support issuance of Construction Documents
Responsible for the delivery of complete and accurate drawings, calculations, and specifications
Provide oversight to junior engineers
Work closely with Designer/Draftsperson to produce complete construction documents
Perform site evaluations and inspections of existing conditions, as well as, in-progress construction
