About The Position

SEH is currently searching for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our talented Structural team. The position will focus primarily on Senior Structural Engineering, as a growth leader. Manage Structural Engineering projects and clients. Build a team of design engineers on structural building projects for primarily private clients. Provide technical leadership, oversight and quality control for designs performed by staff. Participate in business development and marketing. Actively pursue project opportunities and lead a team in preparing project proposals for structural projects. Assist the practice leadership team in developing and implementing strategic growth to meet short and long-term plans and financial goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis from an accredited college or university
• Licensed Professional Engineer in MN.
• Currently serves as an Engineer of Record.
• Demonstrated leadership in setting and executing market strategy, aligning project delivery and business development to drive sustained, profitable growth
• Motivated by ownership and long-term impact
• Established network within area of expertise.
• Excels at building and retaining client relationships
• Experience in proposal development and management of structural engineering services (scope, schedule, budget)
• Experience mentoring or developing early- to mid-career engineers
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site observations/visits, etc.
• The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with various structural design and analysis software (RISA, Mathcad, Excel Spreadsheets, etc.
• 15 or more years of Civil Engineering experience in structural design
• Licensed Structural or Professional Engineer in other states
• Experience with direct accountability for the success, growth, and legacy of the market and work they lead
• Familiarity with emerging AI tools and platforms, with the ability to apply them to improve design efficiency, analysis workflows, and documentation
